Welcome from Bishop Godfrey

Dear Friends,

bishopI welcome you in the name of our Risen Lord to our website.  I hope that you will gain from this site a better idea of our diocese and the work we are engaged in.

“As the Father sent me so I send you.”  John 20:21

We obey Jesus’ command to go and make disciples of all nations.  Our worship is evangelical, and we prioritize prayer for healing and restoration of peoples lives — physically, emotionally and spiritually.  We work for real change in people caused by the work of the gospel in their hearts and the renewing of their minds.

I want to share with you this year a verse which epitomizes our work in the community.  It comes from Matthew’s gospel, and describes the compassion of Jesus — a clarion call for all of us.

Then Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. But when he saw the multitude he was moved with compassion for them because they were weary and scattered like sheep having no shepherd.  Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Matthew 9: 35-38

Our diocese is working with many people, most of whom are in rural areas.  They are tired and “scattered” — in physical and spiritual need.  We seek to follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ, who came to heal as well as to teach, to disciple as well as convert, and who took time to feed bodies as well as souls.

I hope that you will be led by God to join with us in prayers and in relationship.

God bless you,

+Godfrey Sehaba
